Meal Plans

• Students living on campus are required to enroll in a Residential Bobcat meal plan. These include Bobcat Black, Bobcat Red, and Bobcat White.
• Students living in off-campus housing or Edgewood Commons residents have the option to enroll in a meal plan. These include Block 100, Block 75, Block 50. Commuter students also have the option to purchase from a Bobcat residential meal plan to allow for more flexibility in your dining experience. These include Bobcat Black, Bobcat Red, Bobcat White.
• Faculty and Staff are not required to enroll in a meal plan. Visit the Faculty and Staff resources for more information.

Students living on campus can sign up for their meal plan when they fill out their housing form.

Students living in off-campus housing or Edgewood Commons residents who wish to purchase a meal plan can do so by logging into their Frostburg State PAWS account. Once logged into PAWS: navigate to the Student Center on the left side panel, go to “My Account” and click on “Make a Payment”, after making a meal plan choice, the system will prompt for payment. After payment is processed your meal plan will be added to your FSU account, which could take up to one weekday to be loaded.

Off-campus students can also email the billing office to add a meal plan to their account. From their Frostburg email please include: their legal First and Last name, Student ID Number, and the meal plan they would like added to their account.

A meal plan consists of meal swipes, dining dollars, retail meal equivalency, on-campus mobile ordering credit, guest meals, and exclusive events access. Meal plans may be purchased in the academic year by actively enrolled students and their guardians or faculty/staff members.

Academic year meal plan rates are determined based on the type of meal plan purchased.

Restricted meal plans only allow 1 swipe per meal period at all dining locations. This limitation ensures the student does not use up all their meal swipes early in the week. *

Bobcat Black is our Unlimited plan. This plan has no limitation on the amount of meal swipes per period at Chesapeake Dining Hall. For all retail dining locations Bobcat Black only allows 1 swipe per meal period. *Please inform the cashier in all dining locations that you are using a Bobcat Black/Unlimited Meal Plan.

• Meal Swipes are used to gain access to Chesapeake Dining Hall, therefore every time you come into the location to eat, your card is swiped, and a count is taken off from the plan.
• Retail Meal Equivalency is used in the Lane Center Food Court, Firehouse Subs, and Chick-fil-A. Retail Meal Equivalency is when a meal swipe is used in exchange for a specified cash equivalency. You may purchase any product in a retail dining location for up to the specified cash equivalency. Anything owed after the meal swipe is used may be purchased through Bonus dollars, credit/debit card, or by cash.

Breakfast: $7.75     Lunch/Dinner: $9.50

Bonus Dollars are a convenient, cashless way to make purchases, using your university issued ID Card, at our on-campus dining locations. Like using a debit card, funds are deducted as purchases are made.

Bonus Dollars roll over from fall semester to spring semester as long as a spring semester meal plan is purchased. Bonus Dollars expire on graduation day in the spring semester.

Bonus Dollars can be used for purchasing snacks, dining at all on campus dining locations, Starbucks, and access to Exclusive Events.

Bonus Dollars are included with each Meal Plan. The amount included is determined by which plan is selected. For more information on Bonus Dollars visit Student Meal Plan resources.

A meal period is a predetermined time that a student can use a meal swipe in Chesapeake Dining Hall or meal equivalency in the Retail Dining Locations.

Meal plans allow students to use one meal swipe per meal period. *

Monday-Friday:

• Breakfast- 7:15 am – 10:30 am
• Lunch- 10:30 am – 4:30 pm
• Dinner- 4:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Saturday & Sunday

• Brunch- 10:30 am – 1:30 pm
• Dinner- 4:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Retail Meal Equivalency Times:

• Breakfast- 8:30 am – 10:29 am
• Lunch- 10:30 am – 3:29 pm
• Dinner- 3:30 pm – 8:00 pm
• Late Night- 8:30pm-11:00pm

*Bobcat Black allows unlimited meal swipes in Chesapeake Dining Hall.

Weekly meal plans (Residential Bobcat meal plans) start on Saturday morning and end on Friday night.

Students may make meal plan changes up until the Friday before classes start by sending an email from their FSU email account to [email protected] including their legal First and Last name, Student ID Number, the meal plan they currently have, and the meal plan they want to change too.

On campus students have the choice to keep the same meal plan choice from Fall semester to Spring semester. If you would like to change your meal plan selection before Spring semester, please follow the email instructions.

Students living in off campus housing or Edgewood Commons residents who would like to sign up for a meal plan will have to complete the process for both Fall semester and Spring semester. The choice to have a meal plan added to your bill does not carry over to the Spring semester.
